Nizar said “many more questions” were raised that he could not answer.
“The (Court of Apepal’s) decision has left Perak in a state of limbo and uncertainty,” he told reporters at the state DAP headquarters here on Tuesday.
Nizar said it should be the people, and not the courts who decided on who the government of the day was.
”The Court of Appeal’s decision raises doubts on who is the rightful Mentri Besar, as it granted a stay but did not nullify the High Court’s declaration.
”It is impossible not to have the institution of the mentri besar. There has to be continuity, there cannot be a gap,” he said.
To a question on the position of Pakatan Rakyat, which no longer commanded the majority in the state assembly, Nizar said that could only be challenged on the floor of the state assembly.
Asked if he would seek a motion of confidence in the House, he said it would be better to go back to the people and get a stronger mandate.
Nizar left the state secretariat building, where the Mentri Besar’s office is located, at 2.45pm Tuesday after hearing news of the stay of execution.
”We have not seen the actual document (of the stay) but we just heard it through the media. So, we vacated the building out of respect,” he said.
He said he would seek advice from his panel of lawyers and advisers before taking further legal action.
