PKR national youth exco member Amizudin Ahmat has alleged that Fairus in involved in corruption. He claims that the Deputy Chief Minister is working in cohort with several quarries in Bukit Mertajam by covering up their illegal activities ranging from failure to pay royalty to the state government to breaching the state rules and regulations on quarry activities. Three companies where Fairus is said to have personal interest have been slapped with hefty fine by the central Seberang Perai district office recenlty after their activities were exposed. Kuad Kuari was fined a whopping RM746, 520.66, Saw Chong Teok Kuari fined RM120,000 and Lean Seng Kuari fined RM6,000. Amizudin said he would lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission after the Bukit Selambau and Bukit Gantang by-eletions and expose the names of leaders involved in the scandal, incluidng from PKR.
