Pak Lah has no problem with being backbencher

By Adib Zalkapli

KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 — Former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today said he has no problem returning to Parliament as a backbencher.
'I have been a backbencher before, no problem,' Abdullah told reporters at the centenary celebration of the Malaysian Scouts movement here.
'When you refuse to accept changes and begin to talk and do things which are not right and not proper, that is when you are going to create problems,' he added.
Abdullah had previously promised not to interfere in the administration of Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
During his premiership Abdullah had to endure various attacks from his predecessor Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
When asked about the new appointments in Umno made by Najib, Abdullah said he welcomed Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as the new Penang Umno chief and was confident that Barisan Nasional would be able to capture the state from Pakatan Rakyat in the next general election.
He refused to comment on other appointments.
'I have expressed before my intention to step down as Penang Umno chief,' said the Kepala Batas Umno chief.
Abdullah also said that the BN unity in Penang could still be improved."

that certain quarters have tended to ridicule judgments of the courts solely for these judgments having ruled one way rather than the other. For them, the expected outcome defines everything.

If it is not disappointing then it is presumed that the process of the law was not compromised. However, if the outcome is disappointing then it is a given that the process was subverted. This cannot be the right way to look at things as, whatever the case, the process of the law is crucial.-Malik Imtiaz Sarwar
